2019 Houston Smile Gala
The 2019 Houston Smile Gala will celebrate the hundreds of thousands of life-changing surgeries provided in more than 60 countries around the globe since 1982 as well as the thousands of smiles Operation Smile aspires to deliver this year.
Every three minutes, a child is born with a cleft. A cleft condition can create serious health issues if not corrected; babies can have difficulty with feeding, which in some parts of the world can lead to malnutrition, or even starvation. Speech and language development can also be impaired. Due to widespread and deep-rooted social stigma, these children often experience ridicule and social isolation. In too many cases, they face uncertain futures because of limited access to health care and strained financial resources.
At Operation Smile, we envision a future where health and dignity are improved through safe surgery. We believe that all children deserve to be treated as if they were our own.
That’s what drives each and every one of us: our global network of medical professionals, who donate hundreds of thousands of hours toward the care of children around the world each year, and our supporters, who are moved every day to make a difference in the lives of children they’ve never met.
Friday, April 26, 2019 marks Operation Smile’s 5th annual Houston Smile Gala at Hotel Zaza. Join more than 300 Houstonians that have agreed to lend their support to ensure children are given new smiles and brighter futures. With your support, how many lives can we change tomorrow?
