2019 Hollywood Fight Night Event
500 guests from Los Angeles and around the globe will join forces to help children worldwide
Hollywood Fight Night
Friday, October 11th
Surgery can change a child’s life forever; you can make a difference.
Are you tired of the traditional gala event, the classic charity black tie event or the usual awards presentation? Well, we’re here to bring you something different – a charity event disruptor if you will.
First, a bit of history: We founded the white-collar fight night concept in London in 2003, when we challenged the financial services industry to put up boxers to fight each other in aid of Operation Smile in the “Hedge Fund Fight Night.” We pitted hedge funds against each other, banks against each other, and different industry segments against each other. One of the best fights was Hedge Funds vs. Private Equity Funds. Now we aren’t talking experienced boxers here, but mostly complete novices. In fact, through the years, most participants had never even put on a pair of gloves. They were simply individuals who were willing to train to fight against a well-matched opponent.
We put all the contenders through four to six months of training for just six minutes of glory and 100 percent for a good cause.
It proved to be an instant hit, and we have taken the concept to places across the world including Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore and even Vietnam. The events were met with great success and millions of dollars were raised in the process. So what exactly are we up to?
A black tie boxing night in an aircraft hangar with six bouts pitting boxers from the entertainment industry – agencies, studios, production companies and more – against each other. Think Olympic boxing: headguards, 16-ounce gloves and amateur rules.
All in the right spirit, but who wouldn’t want to see CAA fight WME or Paramount vs. Fox or Jim Henson’s Studios against Illumination?! A Muppet vs. a Minion. Well, maybe not that last one, but you get the point!
Now you might scoff at two three-minute rounds, but we can assure you it will be the longest, hardest yet most positively impactful six minutes of their life.
Why are we doing it? Naturally, it’s all for a good cause. A nonprofit fundraising event for people living with untreated cleft lips and cleft palates in places of dire need around the world with all proceeds going to Operation Smile.
So get ready folks, this is going to be quite a night! Follow the journey as we track the boxers through their training and join us on a unique night to support them as they put up a fight to make a difference. You won’t be disappointed!
We will be transforming Barker Hangar at Santa Monica Airport into a Vegas-style boxing venue for the night with 60 tables around a floodlit, full-size boxing ring.
It’s Hollywood, so expect a big show that’s full of surprises.
The event will feature six fights throughout the evening, between dinner courses, in addition to entertainment, live auction and our wonderful celebrity Smile Ambassadors. This promises to be an action-packed night, unlike any you’ve been to before. Come out and support your organization’s boxer or just come to enjoy what will be a phenomenal evening that will make a positive impact on the lives of children around the world.
There are three levels of table sponsorship available:
- Heavyweight Sponsor: $25,000 for a ringside table
- Middleweight Sponsor: $15,000 for a table close enough to smell the sweat, but not get wet
- Lightweight Sponsor: $10,000 to be part of the riotous outer ring
Operation Smile has provided hundreds of thousands of safe surgeries for those born with cleft lip, cleft palate or other facial conditions. With more than three decades of expertise, Operation Smile creates solutions that deliver free surgery to people where it’s needed most. As one of the largest medical volunteer-based nonprofits, Operation Smile has mobilized thousands of medical volunteers from a wide range of medical specialties from more than 80 countries.
Operation Smile engages public-private partnerships to advance health care delivery, train local medical professionals to provide surgical care for patients in their communities, donate crucial medical equipment and supplies, and increase access to surgical care so that everyone living with cleft is treated.
We’re looking for boxers of any level willing to go through four to six months of training to ready themselves to stand up and fight in that ring. In past years, most boxers had never even put gloves on before. Don’t worry, we’ll train you at the phenomenal Gloveworx gym to get you fight-night ready.
All we ask for is your best effort and an iron will to learn and to compete. Note though that in all the years that we have done this, there has never been a serious injury. Also, we are firm believers that no good comes out of a mismatch – professionals will assist us in matching everybody in the ring by age, weight and ability.
So, from your perspective, you get to represent your organization with all of the profile that brings. Through your participation, you’ll help raise significant funds for charity, you have the challenge of (probably) doing something you’ve never done before and, trust us, after six months, you will be the fittest you’ve ever been.
It’s a win/win!
So ladies and gentlemen, are you ready to rumble? Please email Robyn Elefane at email@example.com to sign up.Sponsors
