Credentialed Medical Volunteers

Every Operation Smile medical volunteer is credentialed to ensure patients are getting the best possible care.

Operation Smile has a rigorous credentialing process for all medical volunteers that includes pre-certification in their respective fields (surgery, anesthesia, pediatric medicine, dentistry, nursing, child life specialist, etc.), as well as on-going training, evaluation and mentoring periods.

Education and Training
Operation Smile is a 501(c)(3) organization. Contributions are tax deductible in accordance with IRS rules and regulations.

Operation Smile Canada Foundation is a registered corporation in Canada and has applied for Charitable Registration with the Canada Revenue Agency as of July, 2011. Pending approval of charitable registration, all donations received during the 2012 calendar year will be tax deductible and provided with a receipt in January of 2013.
