Preview Curriculum: Final Mile

The following lesson plan preview will allow you to better determine if the Operation Smile Final Mile educational curriculum may benefit the students in your school. To satisfy the learning needs of all children, lessons are differentiated for kindergarten-3rd grade and 4th grade-6th grade.

Each lesson includes a section for objectives, materials and new vocabulary, national and state standards, introduction, procedure, extension activity and formative assessment. Currently only the Virginia Standards of Learning are included, as Operation Smile sponsors the Final Mile during the Shamrock Marathon in Virginia Beach, Va. Relevant standards will be updated as the Final Mile extends to marathons in other locations.
