Education Programs: A step toward sustainability

Training is the cornerstone of who we are. It's the only way to ensure that every child receives quality care every time, everywhere they receive surgery. The goal of Operation Smile training programs is to move towards sustainable programs conducted at the local level.

Through our education initiatives, partner countries are given specialized skills to treat children with facial deformities on their own — with their own resources, volunteers and medical professionals, making our impact even greater than we could with international missions alone.

Sharing best practices at our annual educational exchange.

Developing programs and curriculum for local treatment centers.

Learn by doing during a two-week mission.

Providing quality medical education online to support our International Foundations and volunteers.

An international training organization of the American Heart Association.

Fellowships build long-term commitment to our cause.

Providing answers and resources on how to care for a child with a cleft.

Teachers can educate children about volunteerism through service opportunities.
