Working together with a common goal
Nearly every day, somewhere in the world, volunteers are working to provide children with life-changing surgeries to restore their smiles. With the support of our International Foundations and Global Resource Chapters, we are working together to permanently affect the futures of these children — and of our world.
Operation Smile Foundations in each of our 25 medical mission countries are separate, registered legal entities with a permanent presence. They fund, plan and conduct international medical missions by establishing networks and alliances within their countries’ government, educational, business and health care systems. They also organize local missions so they can take care of more children, and many are establishing clinics where they can treat children year-round.
Operation Smile’s six Global Resource Chapters exist to provide many of the resources needed by our mission countries. Their support takes many forms — state-of-the-art medical equipment, transporting children to Australia, Europe, South Africa or the United States for our World Care program and developing student programs.
Together, our Foundations and Resource Chapters are making a daily impact on children’s lives. They are also helping us advance our Global Standards of Care, advocacy and awareness of facial deformities, volunteerism throughout the world, and education and training of the next generation of leaders.
