APPLICATION DEVELOPER

DEPARTMENT
IT, 109

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Application Developer is responsible for programming data driven web-based applications that support core business processes and strategic initiatives. The developer will also be responsible for cyclical improvements and on-going support/troubleshooting of the applications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Receive direction from the Manager of Information Technologies regarding projects and applications. Work with Assistant Manager of Information Technologies on projects.
  • Interface with all Operation Smile departments to provide support and programming to crucial applications.
  • Code programs in a clean and organized fashion and produce complimenting documentation for technical support and knowledge transfer.
  • Actively works with SQL 2000 & 2005, Visual studio, Windows Server 2003.
  • Responsible for all areas of the applications, including coding, implementation, testing, further follow-up as necessary and ongoing maintenance of the application for troubleshooting and future expansion.
  • Extensive work with designing databases, creating stored procedures/triggers, data modeling, data import and export, and queries.
  • Weekly reports on project status to Manager of Information Technology
  • Serve as back-up support for other areas of Information Technology as needed.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Three years experience as part of an application development team
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft.net technologies, especially C# and ASP.net.
  • Three years working with Microsoft SQL (versions 2000-2005).
  • B.S. in Computer Science or three years additional experience in lieu of degree,
  • Proficiency with C#, ASP.net, SQL, T-SQL, IIS, Active Directory, Visual Studio, HTML, CSS, SML, and AJAX
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including ability to communicate technical information and knowledge to non-technically inclined individuals.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and individually.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced, diverse environment.



REGIONAL DIRECTOR ASIA

This is a regular, full time position located in Hanoi, Vietnam.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Regional Director - Asia is responsible for providing leadership throughout the region while collaborating with functional department leaders at Operation Smile, Inc. headquarters. This role is responsible for building constructive relations with regional foundations / mission country teams (Australia, China, Cambodia, India, Vietnam, Laos, The Philippines), supporting the Operation Smile organization mission, driving a unified organization in all ways and supporting foundation and regional growth.
The Regional Director provides leadership to direct and indirect regional team members. Critical functional areas include: Regional Liaison, Strategic Planning and Implementation, Leadership and Management, Communication and Collaboration and Business Operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor Degree in Business, International Relations, Nonprofit Management, Public Health or related field
  • 8 - 12 years experience in international nonprofit preferably in region assigned
  • 5 + years international medical program management
  • Proven success in culturally diverse management role and working across borders
  • Strong budgeting skills and understanding of financial management and controls
  • Must have strong leadership and project management skills and ability to inspire and disseminate organizational values and purpose
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Prefer proficiency in at least one Asian language
  • Must have experience with USA based employer
  • Must be able to live in Hanoi, Vietnam and travel in the United States and regional countries regularly
