Supermodel Lydia Hearst Hosts Fashion Rocks

Fashion Rocks, a unique fusion of fashion and music showcasing major fashion labels alongside well-known musical artists, debuted June 25 and 26 at the legendary Berns Salonger in Stockholm, Sweden.
 
The Berns Salonger is home of the internationally acclaimed Fashion Week by Berns, the premier catwalk of Scandinavia.

The fashion-elite event was hosted by supermodel Lydia Hearst, a supporter and N.Y.C. Executive Committee member for Operation Smile. In March of 2009, Hearst accompanied Operation Smile on a medical mission to Cairo, Egypt.

Nearly 1,200 people attended the two-day event and 5% of ticket sales directly benefited Operation Smile. Fashion Rocks was not only a glamorous event, but Hearst gave a heartfelt message about her involvement with the worldwide children's medical charity and told personal stories about her mission experience in Cairo.

Directly following the supermodel's message, Niclas Dellham, a Swedish musician, performed Eric Clapton's "Change the World" while a photo montage of the children Operation Smile has helped played in the background.

Among the stellar Scandinavian cast of models, designers and musicians, Fashion Rocks also featured Swedish pop star Veronica Maggio, Swedish musician September, Swedish designers Dagmar, men's apparel designer J. Lindeberg, Ann-Sofieback and Finnish fashion company IVANAhelsinki.

It is hard to put into words the feelings of the
heart but I can truly state that this was a life-altering experience.
The stories that I have heard and experiences will stay with me forever.
