Every three minutes a child is born with a cleft lip or cleft palate. A baby born with a cleft has twice the odds of dying before celebrating their first birthday, and those who survive are often unable to eat, speak, socialize or smile. In some places, they are shunned and rejected. And in too many cases, their parents can't afford to give them the surgeries they need to live a productive life. Operation Smile was founded on the belief that no child should suffer or die because of a facial deformity.
This fall, we invite you to join us for an unforgettable evening! The 2014 Smile Gala will be held to celebrate the more than 220,000 children around the world whose lives Operation Smile has been able to transform. With a presence in over 60 countries and care centers providing year-round surgeries to ensure long-term self-sustainability, we are in a better place than ever to help even more children and families in need.
With your support, how many lives can we change tomorrow?
